President Donald Trump, in a June 15 social media post, called for amping up his deportation agenda, demanding that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials “do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History.”
Trump singled out large Democratic-run cities like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, which have made themselves havens for illegal immigrants, even as local leaders have struggled to handle the influx.
Trump timed his missive shortly after nationwide “No Kings” protests that in part criticized his immigration agenda, as well as the chaotic and violent protests in Los Angeles this month in response to ICE raids.
