Following Monday’s announcement of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot, which features 14 holdovers and 14 newcomers, we decided to survey our readers to find out who you believe is worthy of enshrinement in Cooperstown.
Ichiro Suzuki, Dustin Pedroia and CC Sabathia headlined the names added to the ballot this year, which also include Carlos Gonzalez, Curtis Granderson, Felix Hernandez, Adam Jones, Ian Kinsler, Russell Martin, Brian McCann, Hanley Ramirez, Fernando Rodney, Troy Tulowitzki and Ben Zobrist: The 14 new candidates are joined by 14 returnees to the Hall of Fame ballot.
In that magical first season where he helped lead the Mariners to a MLB-record 116 games, Ichiro was named the American League Rookie of the Year and the Most Valuable Player, becoming the second player in MLB history to win both awards in the same season. The other was Fred Lynn with the Red Sox in 1975.
