A lawsuit filed by more than a dozen Democratic state attorneys general Tuesday is challenging President Donald Trump’s bid to end birthright citizenship, a major constitutional challenge to one of the White House’s signature policies.
"The States’ filing explains that they should not have to bear these dramatic costs while their case proceeds because the Order is directly inconsistent with the Constitution, the Immigration and Nationality Act, and two U.S. Supreme Court decisions," the AG office added.
"Radical Leftists can either choose to swim against the tide and reject the overwhelming will of the people, or they can get on board and work with President Trump to advance his wildly popular agenda," Harrison Fields, White House principal deputy press secretary, told Fox News Digital. "These lawsuits are nothing more than an extension of the Left’s resistance – and the Trump administration is ready to face them in court," he said.
