The Philadelphia Eagles are leading the Kansas City Chiefs 17-0 at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. The Eagles are attempting to win the Super Bowl for a second time. The Chiefs are aiming for a record third-straight Super Bowl win — but they have plenty of work to do.
The Super Bowl Squares winners for the first quarter are Chiefs 0 and Eagles 7 with the score sitting at Chiefs 0, Eagles 7 after 15 minutes of action. Philadelphia was stopped after a controversial offensive pass interference flag on fourth down halted their opening drive and forced them to punt. Philly's defense put the clamps on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense, though, as the Chiefs only ran seven offensive plays in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, on the Eagles' second drive of the game, a beautiful pass to Jahan Dotson came up just short of the goal line before Jalen Hurts punched it in with the Brotherly Shove to give us the score that held at the end of the first period of play.
The Eagles are one step closer to shutting out the Kansas City Chiefs for the first half of Super Bowl six. Philadelphia cornerback Cooper DeJean intercepted Patrick Mahomes on third and 16 score a touchdown halfway through the second quarter. The pick-six extended the Eagles lead to 17-0 with a little over three minutes remaining in the half.
