Combs was accused of throwing wild sex parties called “freak offs” and charged with racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Per court documents filed in the Southern District of New York on Friday (Feb. 21), Anthony Ricco said that while he had “provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs, consistent with the ABA Standards for Criminal Justice.” Combs retained Ricco’s counsel on Sept. 22, 2024.
The court must first sign off on his decision to leave the case. Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges lodged against him after his September arrest.
