Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was ridiculed for promoting Steak 'n Shake during a Fox News segment on Monday. The Secretary of Health and Human Services and Fox News broadcaster Sean Hannity sat down for burgers and fries while discussing the "Make America Healthy Again" initiative. RFK Jr. commended the Steak 'n Shake fast food chain for replacing vegetable oil with beef tallow.
You've heard of the classics like curly fries or waffle fries — but what are "MAHA" fries? The fast-food side that has everyone talking is a reference to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" movement. He stopped by a Steak 'n Shake in Florida with Fox News host Sean Hannity to explain.
Kennedy, while chowing down on fries and a double cheeseburger, noted that he believes seed oils could be one of the main catalysts behind the “epidemic” of chronic disease in America. “Seed oil is one of the components of processed foods, and all the science indicates that ultra-processed foods are the principal culprit in this extraordinary explosion — the epidemic we have of chronic disease,” he said.
Kennedy praised the recent move by the company to ditch cooking its fries in vegetable oil and instead use “100% all-natural beef tallow.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Sean Hannity visited a New York City Steak 'n Shake on Monday night. The fast food chain recently announced it would stop cooking its French fries in vegetable oil and use beef tallow. Kennedy is promoting the use of tallow over seed oils, like canola or sunflower oil, that are common in processed foods.
