"It was a little bit of an inspirational-type letter, you know, enjoy it, do a good job," Trump told reporters on Tuesday. "Important, very important, how important the job is." Trump said he may publicly release Biden's letter. "But I may—I think it was a nice letter," the president said. "I think I should let people see it because was a positive for him in writing it. I appreciated the letter. I appreciated the letter." Trump made the remarks after announcing the creation of Stargate, a new AI infrastructure project. He made the announcement while joined by SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle Corp. Chairman Larry Ellison, who will jointly invest $500 billion into Stargate.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said former President Joe Biden left him a "nice" letter inside the Resolute Desk at the White House, continuing an inauguration day tradition. Trump told reporters he opened the letter on Monday evening and was thinking of making it publicly available. He said Biden advised him to enjoy his term and emphasized the importance of the role. "It said, 'To Number 47,' Trump said. "It was a very nice one .... just basically a little bit of an inspirational-type letter. Enjoy it. Do a good job. Important, very important how important the job is."

Very important, how important the job is,” Trump said Tuesday, continuing to describe the note. “I think I should let people see it, because it was a positive for him.” The president added that he “appreciated” the message left by Biden, his longtime political rival. Biden did not reveal details of the letter Trump left for him in 2021, but said the note was “generous.” Also Tuesday, during the same media availability, Trump hit his predecessor for for pardoning his family members and issuing pre-emptive pardons to figures including Liz Cheney, Anthony Fauci and Mark Milley.
