The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services canceled a museum exhibit for Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), tech billionaire Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said on Friday.
Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency recently announced that the health department cancelled more than $180 million in contracts including a nearly $170,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit. "Can you believe your taxpayer dollars were being spent on a Fauci exhibit," Elon Musk said reacting. Elon Musk is a known Fauci hater and the targeted action comes as Elon Musk's DOGE is looking into the expenditure of all departments and cutting down the costs in its one-year target of reducing the federal expenditure.
The Fauci exhibit was booked to be finished by July 2025, but has now been scrapped along with $182 million in other HHS administrative expenses.
