A White House official confirmed with ABC News that Fogel landed on United States soil at approximately 9:30 p.m. and arrived at the White House shortly after 10 p.m. Trump greeted Fogel and welcomed him back to the United States.
U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed American teacher Marc Fogel to the White House late Tuesday after Fogel was freed from Russia where he had been detained since August 2021 for bringing medically prescribed marijuana into the country.
'I'm so excited,' Fogel told Trump of being back in the U.S. after arriving at a snowy White House with an American flag draped around his neck. As he shook the president's hand, Trump rubbed his arm and gave him a cordial embrace.
