Dajua is suing Lyft and the driver for violating Michigan civil rights laws barring discrimination based on weight.
The lawsuit was filed yesterday in the 3rd Judicial Circuit Court in Michigan by attorneys attorneys Jonathan Marko and Zach Runyan, who say that the driver’s actions in denying the 500-lb rapper a ride violated Michigan’s laws against weight discrimination: “Under the law, refusing someone transportation due to their weight is no different than refusing someone transportation based on their race or religion.”
A plus-sized rapper has sued Lyft after claiming a driver refused to pick her up over fears she was too big to fit in his car and could 'burst his tires.' Dank Demoss, 36, real name Dajua Blanding, filmed her interaction with the Lyft driver earlier this month, showing her arguing back and forth over whether she could fit into his vehicle.
