Thousands rally in 'Hands Off' protests against Trump policies and Musk-led government cuts

Thousands of protesters gathered around the U.S. Saturday in a series of "Hands Off" demonstrations organized by Democratic activists seeking to mobilize against the Trump administration's immigration policies and the mass firings of federal workers led by the Department of Government Efficiency. In a statement released ahead of the event, organizers accused President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk of believing "this country belongs to them."

'Hands Off!' protests against Trump and Musk are planned across the US

Opponents of President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk rallied across the U.S. on Saturday to protest the administration’s actions on government downsizing, the economy, human rights and other issues. More than 1,200 “Hands Off!” demonstrations were planned by more than 150 groups, including civil rights organizations, labor unions, LBGTQ+ advocates, veterans and elections activists. The protest sites included the National Mall in Washington, D.C., state capitols and other locations in all 50 states.

Despite the thousands of demos around the US, today the President competed in and won the second round of the Senior Club Championships at his Trump National Jupiter club. A White House briefing said the President is through to Sunday's Championship round.
