The Los Angeles Police Department released body cam footage of an April 8 incident involving 51-year-old Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner. The video, part of a use-of-force investigation, shows officers responding to a hit-and-run incident near the 134 Freeway and Figueroa Street, searching for suspects in the Eagle Rock area. "As the officers were in the rear yard of that residence, they observed a female ... in the yard of a neighboring residence armed with a handgun," LAPD stated. Shriner was seen walking into her yard with a gun in surveillance footage. The body cam video shows officers yelling commands, including "Put the gun down!" and "Drop the gun; you are going to get shot." When Shriner pointed the handgun at the officers, a shooting occurred. "Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers, and an officer-involved shooting occurred," the LAPD explained. Shriner was hit in the shoulder and retreated inside her home, later telling police she was defending her property from the fleeing suspects.

Bodycam footage has been released of Weezer bassist Scott Schriner's wife as she toted a gun before being shot by police and booked on suspicion of attempted murder. Jillian Lauren Shriner, 51, was wounded outside the couple's home in Eagle Rock, northeast Los Angeles on April 9 after a cop shot her in the shoulder. She allegedly became entangled in a police manhunt through their neighborhood and pointed a gun at officers from her front yard, which is when they opened fire. Jillian, who recently revealed that she is battling cancer, was then absentee booked on suspicion of attempted murder while being taken to a nearby medical facility. Now the newly-released footage released on Friday began with home camera footage of Jillian walking out of her LA home while toting a handgun. The next scene was police bodycam footage as they peered over the fence to tell her to put the gun down before drawing their firearms themselves. The law enforcement officers say that they see her lifting the gun and then a flurry of gun shots could be heard as they declare 'shots fired' in their walkie talkies. What followed is footage is bodycam footage of her arrest as she was face down on the pavement shortly after taking a bullet in the shoulder. The LAPD released footage also showed the bullet holes in Jillian's tattooed shoulder.
