Biden admin resettles Guantanamo detainee Majid Khan in Belize
Majid Khan, a Pakistani citizen and Guantanamo’s only known legal U.S. resident, arrived in Belize on Thursday. Two more detainees could leave the facility in Cuba soon.

2y agoAt his sentencing in 2021, Mr. Khan expressed remorse for his crimes and related his story to a U.S. military jury at Guantánamo, which followed war court guidelines and sentenced him retroactively to 26 years in prison.

We are thrilled that Majid is free.
Khan pleaded guilty to delivering $50,000 from Pakistan to an al Qaeda affiliate that used the funds to blow up a Marriott hotel in Indonesia in 2003 and kill an estimated 12 people.
