President Donald Trump said he didn't think the inaugural prayer service was "exciting" An Episcopal bishop called on Trump to show "mercy" toward LGBTQ people and immigrants. The National Prayer Service was one of several events presidents attend around being sworn in. The sermon was delivered by the Rt. Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde.
Bishop asks President to "have mercy" on immigrants and transgender youth. "There are gay, lesbian, transgender children, Democratic, Republican, independent families – some who fear for their lives," he said. The president signed an executive order to crack down on illegal immigration.
