14m agoMAGA election conspiracy theorist and MyPillow founder Mike Lindell has eyes on what could be his next gig. And it isn’t selling pillows. Lindell on Monday teased a run for Minnesota governor, a race that could see him face off against popular incumbent Tim Walz, who is said to be sizing up a third term in the post. “I live here in Minnesota,” Lindell said of his potential opponent. “Everywhere I go, no one wants Tim Walz. They don’t.” Lindell rose to prominence in the MAGA world by offering conspiracy theories about the 2020 election being rigged against President Donald Trump with the help of voting machine companies Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic.
My Pillow founder and Donald Trump loyalist Mike Lindell might be a Republican candidate for Minnesota governor next year. Lindell said on his podcast Monday, “I am considering it and I’m going to do due diligence , as we roll out this…I’m gonna make some bigger announcements tomorrow.” Lindell says he plans to do polling to help determine whether he’ll seek the Republican nomination for Minnesota governor. “I live here in Minnesota, everywhere I go nobody wants Tim Walz,” Lindell said. Gov. Walz hasn’t announced whether he’ll run for a third term.
Lindell considered running for governor in 2022, suggesting that Trump encouraged him to launch a bid. He also weighed running in 2018. The My Pillow founder grew to prominence among MAGA-aligned Republicans as he echoed Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was rigged in favor of former President Joe Biden. He was sued by Dominion Voting Systems over his claims that their machines were rigged and was ordered by a judge to pay $5 million after publicly pledging to pay anyone who could disprove his assertion that the 2020 election was rigged.
