Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial updates: Cassie Ventura’s mother to take stand Tuesday, prosecution says

The highly anticipated trial of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is underway. Combs has been accused of sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy as part of a blockbuster federal indictment originally filed in September 2024. He later faced two additional superseding indictments. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. Combs is accused of being the ringleader of an alleged enterprise that "abused, threatened and coerced women" into prolonged, drug-fueled sexual orgies with male prostitutes, which he called "freak offs," and then threatened them into silence. Combs has said that all of the sex was consensual and that while his relationships sometimes involved domestic violence, he wasn't engaged in trafficking.

Diddy trial live: Cassie Ventura’s mother and ‘freak off’ escort expected to testify

An escort nicknamed “The Punisher” and Cassie Ventura’s mother are among the new witnesses expected to take the stand on Tuesday in the sex-trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. Monday’s hearing at Manhattan federal court wrapped up with tearful testimony from David James, Combs’ former personal assistant, who said Ventura told him that she couldn’t “get out” of her relationship with the 55-year-old music mogul. James is expected to return to the stand Tuesday, with testimony set to resume at 9.30 a.m. The government is also expected to call on three more witnesses: Regina Ventura, Sharay Hayes, and Jourdan Atkinson – Cassie’s mom, an exotic dancer nicknamed “The Punisher” and Combs’ former chef, respectively.

Diddy trial live updates: Cassie Ventura wraps testimony

After a grueling four days on the stand, R&B singer Cassie Ventura finished testifying in the sex-trafficking and racketeering case in Manhattan on Friday against her former boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs — who she says raped, beat and blackmailed her, and forced her into drug-fueled “freak-off” sex marathons with escorts during their 11-year relationship. The prosecution’s star witness — who is eight months pregnant — was also made to read hundreds of shockingly sexually-explicit and “loving” texts and emails she exchanged with Diddy as she was grilled by his attorney Anna Estevao. Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He faces life in prison if convicted.
