In a Capitol Hill office on Tuesday afternoon, senators were reviewing the affidavit from Danielle Diettrich Hegseth, the former wife of Mr. Hegseth’s brother, which describes “erratic and aggressive” behavior by Pete Hegseth that caused his second wife to fear for her safety.
Danielle Hegseth, who is divorced from the nominee's brother, alleges that Pete Hegseth's second wife, Samantha, feared for her safety while married to him, NBC News reported.
Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT), a strong supporter of Hegseth, posted: “This is a desperate, last-minute attempt by Dems and the media to smear Pete Hegseth and tank his nomination."
