The Palestinian Authority criticised Al Jazeera last week over its coverage of the weeks-long standoff between Palestinian security forces and militant fighters in the Jenin camp in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
The specialized ministerial committee, comprising ministries of culture, interior, and communications, has decided to suspend broadcasts and freeze all activities of Al Jazeera satellite channel and its West Bank office.
The Palestinian Authority has ordered the suspension of broadcasts by Qatar-based Al Jazeera and on Thursday accused it of incitement, which the news channel compared to Israeli practices.
