Russia launched a mass drone attack on Ukraine's second largest city of Kharkiv late yesterday, injuring at least 46 people, according to Ukrainian officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the assault, writing on Telegram: “There were no military targets, nor could there be any. Russia strikes dwellings when Ukrainians are in their homes, when they are putting their children to bed.” US officials finalised new economic sanctions against Russia to intensify pressure on Moscow to embrace president Donald Trump’s efforts to end its war, sources say.
RUSSIAN DRONE STRIKES on Ukraine’s second city of Kharkiv wounded 47 people late yesterday, police said, while Russian officials reported a “massive attack” by Ukraine on the Krasnodar region.“Hostile attacks on Kharkiv resulted in 47 injured civilians,” police in the Kharkiv region wrote on Telegram. Kharkiv governor Oleg Synegubov previously said that around 50 people had been wounded in the strikes, including an 11-year-old girl. “Fires have broken out. Residential buildings, civilian infrastructure and cars have been damaged” in the drone strikes, he added.
Russia has launched a massive wave of drone strikes on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, injuring at least 28 people and sparking multiple fires across residential districts, according to regional governor Oleh Synyehubov. Friday evening's assault targeted four key districts of the city - Sloboda, Kyiv, Osnovyansky and Saltivsky - leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. In the Sloboda district, several private vehicles were destroyed after fires broke out as a result of the drone attack. In the Kyiv district, a drone crash-landed, and authorities are still working to assess the full scale of the damage. The Osnovyansky district was among the hardest hit. A house and a shop were both damaged by the blast wave and debris, with a resulting fire engulfing part of a nearby nine-storey apartment block, setting its roof ablaze. In Saltivsky, another drone struck the ground, damaging a residential building and several cars parked nearby.
