US Bombards Houthi-Controlled Oil Port in Yemen, Killing at Least 74

U.S. Strikes on Yemeni Port Kill Dozens, Houthis Say

The strikes late on Thursday were part of an escalating campaign by the Trump administration against the Yemeni militia. The Houthis have been attacking ships in the nearby Red Sea and firing rockets and drones at Israel in a campaign that it says is in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. The American bombardment targeted the port of Ras Isa, a major fuel depot in the Houthi-controlled province of Hudaydah. At least 38 people were killed and more than 100 injured, said Anees al-Asbahi, the spokesman for the Houthi-run health ministry. The toll could not be independently verified. President Trump has expanded efforts by the Biden administration to degrade the Houthis, vowing that they will be “completely annihilated.”

US airstrikes targeting a Yemeni oil port killed 20 people, Houthis say

U.S. airstrikes targeting an oil port held by Yemen’s Houthi rebels killed 74 people and wounded 171 others, the group said Friday, marking the single-deadliest known attack under President Donald Trump’s new campaign targeting the rebels. Assessing the toll of Trump’s campaign, which began March 15, has been incredibly difficult as the U.S. military’s Central Command so far has not released any information on the campaign, its specific targets and how many people have been killed. Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels strictly control access to areas attacked and don’t publish complete information on the strikes, many of which likely have targeted military and security sites.

US forces destroy Houthi-controlled fuel port in Yemen – key source of revenue’ for the terror group

US military strikes destroyed a major fuel port in Yemen Thursday that served as a key source of “illegal revenue” for Houthi terrorists, according to US Central Command. The airstrikes targeted the Houthi-controlled Ras Isa fuel port on Yemen’s Red Sea coast, which the US military said the Iran-backed terror group has used to “sustain their military operations.” “Despite the Foreign Terrorist Designation that went into effect on 05 April, ships have continued to supply fuel via the port of Ras Isa. Profits from these illegal sales are directly funding and sustaining Houthi terrorist efforts,” read a statement released by CENTCOM.
