Israel preparing to strike Iran fast if Trump's nuclear talks break down

One source said the Israeli military thinks its operational window to conduct a successful strike could close soon, so Israel will have to move fast if talks fail. The source declined to say why the military believes a strike would be less effective later. Both sources confirmed a CNN report that the Israel Defense Forces have been conducting exercises and other preparations for a possible strike in Iran. "There was a lot of training and the U.S. military sees everything and understands Israel is preparing," one said. "Bibi is waiting for the nuclear talks to collapse and for the moment Trump will be disappointed about the negotiations and open to giving him the go ahead," an Israeli source added, using a nickname for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel Preparing to Strike Iran’s Nuclear Sites? US Intel Hints at Possibility-Report

CNN, quoting a source familiar with the intelligence, reported that the chances of an Israeli strike on an Iranian nuclear facility have increased significantly in recent months. The report comes at a time as President Donald Trump's administration continues negotiations with Iran seeking a diplomatic agreement on its nuclear program. The intelligence suggesting possible strikes is based on statements from senior Israeli officials, intercepted communications and observed military movements, all indicating a possible strike, CNN reported.

Israel preparing to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, even as Trump tries to negotiate deal: report

Israel is preparing for a possible strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, despite the Trump administration’s efforts to forge a diplomatic deal with Tehran, according to new report that cites American intel officials. Intercepted messages between Israeli officials as well as observations of Israeli military movements have led the US to believe such an attack could be imminent, officials in US intelligence told CNN. “The chance of an Israeli strike on an Iranian nuclear facility has gone up significantly in recent months. And the prospect of a Trump-negotiated US-Iran deal that doesn’t remove all of Iran’s uranium makes the chance of a strike more likely,” a source familiar with US intelligence said.
