Munich police said "around 20" people were injured after a "vehicle drove into a group of people" in the center of the city on Thursday morning.
The suspect is believed to be a 24-year-old asylum-seeker from Afghanistan, Munich police director, Christian Huber, told reporters.
Munich's mayor Dieter Reiter told Bild: 'The police chief has just informed me that a vehicle drove into a group of people and unfortunately many people were injured, including children.'
