Shortly after 2 p.m. MT on Saturday, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office said it was searching for a young man after he was seen diving from cliffs at Porcupine Reservoir and did not resurface. The reservoir is located about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City and 40 miles south of the Idaho border.
“Our Utah State University athletics family is devastated over the sudden death of Andre Seldon Jr.,” Utah State Athletic Director Diana Sabau said. “We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all who loved Andre.”
Seldon was entering his fifth year of college football and his first at Utah State after transferring from New Mexico State, where he spent the last two seasons and was a team captain.
