Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had a situation that they would have been happy with to start Sunday night's AFC championship game. They trailed the Kansas City Chiefs by three points, but with the ball and 3:33 to work with. It’s the type of situation that turns quarterbacks into legends and teams into champions. There’s a reason, however, the Chiefs are a dynasty. At so many points over this era they’ve been in a situation with the game on the line, and almost every time they come up with enough plays to win.
The Kansas City Chiefs punched their ticket to their third consecutive Super Bowl on Sunday night with a 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs will look to become the first NFL team to ever three-peat in the Super Bowl. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 245 yards and a touchdown on Sunday night, the Chiefs are on a historic run. But Mahomes is still finding new ways to dominate.
Whatever the outcome of that game, it's fine. Because this was the game the NFL wanted. Needed. Chiefs 32. Bills 29. Both Allen and Mahomes dueled to the end. And it wasn't until an Allen desperation pass while under pressure was not caught by tight end Dalton Kincaid that it was mostly settled.
