‘Novocaine’ leads numbingly slow weekend at domestic box office
Five new movies opened in wide release in North American theaters this weekend. And yet it's likely going to be the lowest-grossing of the year to date.

However the lackluster box office was most likely affected by deadly storms that affected a large portion of the US Last week's champ, Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson as an 'expendable' reprint trying to colonize a dangerous ice planet, dropped to second place, digging up $7.51 million. Newcomer Black Bag starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender as a pair of married spies questioning their loyalties opened in third place with a score of $7.5 million Fourth place went to Captain America: Brave New World.
