Instagram users under 16 won't be able to livestream or unblur nudity in direct messages they've received without parental approval, owner Meta Platforms said Tuesday as it widened its safety measures for teenagers.
“We’ve been really happy with the rollout of Instagram teen accounts, and that’s part of why we wanted to bring it to other apps that we have,” Hanley said.
On Tuesday, the tech giant announced that users under 18 will automatically be enrolled in these accounts in an attempt “to give parents more peace of mind across Meta apps” and curb exposure to inappropriate content.
