Grammys 2025 recap: Best moments from music’s biggest night

Beyoncé took home the Grammy Award for album of the year for "COWBOY CARTER" and Chappell Roan won the Grammy for best new artist. Kendrick Lamar snagged both record of the year and song of the year for his song "Not Like Us." The Grammys took place nearly a month after the Los Angeles wildfires began, which devastated the region and resulted in at least 29 deaths. 2025 Grammys: Top 10 moments, including Beyoncé’s huge win, Taylor Swift’s shut-out and Kendrick’s victory lap

It was music’s biggest night, as the saying goes. The 2025 Grammys, hosted at the Cryto.com Arena in Los Angeles, was the first major award show since the devastating California wildfires. And though the disaster loomed large throughout the evening, the ceremony contained plenty of moments of excitement and catharsis. On Sunday, Beyoncé finally took home the night’s biggest prize for her country-themed album “Cowboy Carter,” becoming the first Black woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys since Lauryn Hill in 1999. She dedicated her trophy to pioneering country singer Linda Martell, who appeared on “Cowboy Carter.” The award was presented by by members of the Los Angeles Fire department. It’s been nine months since Kendrick Lamar landed a knock-out punch in his feud with Drake with the release of the chart-topping diss track “Not Like Us,” and yet the song’s momentum continues unabated. The song swept all the categories it was nominated for, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Music Video.“There’s nothing more powerful than rap music,” Lamar said during one of his acceptance speeches. “We are the culture.”

Grammys 2025 live updates: Awards, red carpet looks, winners, and more

Hollywood's finest descended upon the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, this evening for the 2025 Grammys. The awards show, which was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, raised funds to support fire relief efforts after the devastation caused by the LA blazes which began on January 7 in Pacific Palisades. It honored the biggest songs, albums, and artists over the last year, and contained a slew of dazzling performances, exciting wins, and epic celebrity interactions. As with any awards show, it also had a series of bizarre looks, shocking incidents, wardrobe malfunctions, surprise appearances, and crazy antics. Years after he made headlines for his Oscar's slap, Will Smith made his awards show return when he hit the Grammys stage for a special Quincy Jones tribute. But fans were not happy with his appearance, and quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to slam him. Beyoncé takes home the award for Album of the Year. The singer, who won for Cowboy Carter, beat out André 3000, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Jacob Collier, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift.
