Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) got into a fiery exchange with Kash Patel, the far-right former House staffer and Trump administration loyalist now nominated to serve as Trump's FBI director, after pointing out that Patel bragged about his role in recording the so-called "January 6 Choir" from the Washington, D.C. jail.
FBI Director-designate Kash Patel responded furiously to Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., as the lawmaker challenged him to face Capitol Police and implied he supported violence against them.
Schiff then asked Patel to turn around and address the police officers in the room, claiming that the inmates on the recording he had purportedly promoted had assaulted them or their colleagues on January 6, 2021. "I'm looking at you. You're talking to me," Patel sternly replied. When Schiff asked Patel to "tell them how proud you are" to see Trump pardon all such inmates, Patel said it was "an abject lie – and you know it." "I've never, never, ever accepted violence against law enforcement. I've worked with these men and women, as you know, my entire life."
