20h agoThe Buffalo Bills released eight-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller, league sources said Sunday. Miller’s release frees $8.4 million against the Bills’ 2025 salary cap, but the team is open to bringing Miller back, a league source said. Miller signed a six-year, $120 million deal with Buffalo during the 2022 offseason but totaled just 14 sacks in three seasons with the team, including zero sacks during the 2023 campaign. Miller has made 129.5 sacks over his 14-year career, peaking with 18.5 in 2012. The 35-year-old, who turns 36 in late March, hasn’t posted a double-digit sack season since 2018.
The Bills are releasing pass rusher Von Miller ahead of the league year, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move opens up $8.4 million in cap space and helps the team as they get under the cap before the start of the league year Wednesday. The team is open to bringing Miller, who turns 36 on March 26, back, the sources told Schefter. The move brings $15.4 million in dead cap for this year. Miller was under contract through 2027.
The Buffalo Bills have announced they are releasing eight-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Von Miller. Miller, who is set to turn 36 later this month, was due to receive $17.5million this year with no guarantees, meaning his exit will free up space on the team's salary cap. Buffalo was $8.6m in the red before releasing the two-time Super Bowl winner, who owned an 8.5 cap percentage. According to NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, however, both parties are open to a potential return ahead of the 2025 season.
