US Imposes Sanctions on Senior Ansarallah Leaders in Yemen

22m agoThe U.S. is imposing sanctions on the Foxtrot Network, a transnational criminal organization, and its leader, Rawa Majid. On January 31, 2024, Swedish authorities thwarted an attempted attack on the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm. A "live" and "dangerous object," later identified as a hand grenade, was discovered outside the embassy premises. The national bomb squad destroyed the device in a controlled detonation. Investigations by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and the Swedish Security Service (Säpo) later revealed that the Foxtrot Network carried out the attack under directives from Iran.
The United States on Wednesday sanctioned Swedish gang the Foxtrot Network and its fugitive leader Rawa Majid. The Treasury Department alleged the Foxtrot Network is an international drug and weapons trafficking organization that was behind an attack on Israel's Stockholm Embassy for Iran in January 2024 and that Majid has specifically cooperated with the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security." Swedish authorities said at the time they classified the January attack as a terrorist crime after finding what they described as a "dangerous object" at the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm.
The United States on Wednesday announced sanctions against the Foxtrot Network, a Sweden-based gang accused of carrying out attacks against Israeli interests in Europe on behalf of Iran. Describing Foxtrot as one of Sweden's "most notorious criminal gangs," the US Treasury and State Departments also placed sanctions on its leader Rawa Majid, with both agencies saying in statements that he had "specifically cooperated with the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security."
