Five seasons after helping secure Philadelphia’s first-ever Super Bowl, Jason lost Super Bowl LVII to Travis and the Chiefs in his 12th year. While Kelce elected to return to Philadelphia on a one-year contract, he eventually announced his retirement weeks after their wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023. “It sucks when you get to this point in the career,” Jason said in response to his brother’s thoughts on retirement. “It becomes harder and harder to do it. Kelce, 35, discussed the “wear and tear” his body has endured throughout his glittering, 12-year NFL career and acknowledged that retirement is a possibility on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason. “I know everybody wants to know whether I am playing next year and right now I am just kicking everything down the road. I am kicking every can I can down the road,” said Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champ. “I am not making any crazy decisions, but right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing.
